A) Printing Effect

i) Spot Color (Silkscreen Printing)

The color will be flat one, layer by layer printed, normally 2~3 color, a more economic option.

ii) Process Color (Offset Printing)

This type of printing will be like our photo color, with toning effect, but more costly.

B) Features on Cards

i) Magnetic Stripe

Magnetic stripe card is a type of card capable of storing data by modifying the magnetism of tiny iron-based magnetic particles on a band of magnetic material on the card. The magnetic stripe, sometimes called swipe card or magstripe, is read by physical contact and swiping past a magnetic reading head.

Basically there are 2 main coercivity : HiCo and LoCo , from 4000 Oe , 2750 oe, 650oe to 300 Oe (Oe is the unit of coercivity) Low-coercivity magstripes require a lower amount of magnetic energy to record, which is cheaper and commonly used.

Data must be encoded inside the magstripe, in order to activate it, for example the ID number for the card.

ii) Barcode

It is another choice of identification (ID) of the card, other than magnetic stripe.

A barcode is an optical machine-readable representation of data, which shows data about the object to which it attaches. Originally, barcodes represented data by varying the widths and spacings of parallel lines, and may be referred to as linear or 1 dimensional (1D).

iii) Thermal Print

It is the printing method by melting a coating of ribbon so that it stays glued to the material on card.

Can add inside name and data is by monochrome ribbon, photo is by CMYKO ribbon.

It is for small quantity and fast print out, can be black and white, or full color. The disadvantage is expensive, and 0.5mm edge of card cannot be printed.

iv) Emboss & Tipping

Normally name, numbering, expiry date tend to be embossed and tipping with silver or gold foil., like what we can see on our credit card.

Same thing applied onto membership card.

v) Hot Stamping

To make the wordings or logo more outstanding, hot stamping could be implied with foil color like gold, silver, maroon, etc.

Foil stamping is environmentally friendly due to it being a dry process.

vi) Shape Card

Clients can customised their card with desired shape with additional cost. Thinner card will be cheaper, while 0.6mm thinkness and above will be a bit costly.

Using our typical shape will be waived with mould cost.

vii) Transparent Card

To make it more unique, the card can be designed with partially transparent features.

viii) Scratching stripe/ Scratch Off Card

Scratching foil normally used for reload card, with numbering or password hidden inside.
